Nice people that's about it. Put new balancer on crank. Motor had over 2 million miles, started to break bolts off which is understandable. So then decided they would replace crank shaft pulley. They had to cut it off which I understand is time consuming, but not 24 hour time consuming. When all said and done at 2000.00 in parts understandable and 2300.00 in labor. That stated they had 24 hours in labor and reduced it down to 20 hours of labor. I'm not a mechanic but I do a lot of my own work. I was originally going to take truck home with parts and do it myself, but they fitted my truck in. Should have been a 2 hour job with everything cooperating. This did not happen. All I want to say is... 24 hours is way too excessive in labor. Was hoping to do more business with them, but will decline to take my truck there now. Better have deep pockets! I still can't see how it would take 10 to 12 hours standing under truck to cut pulley of as I said torch removes a lot of material quickly. And was never told that it could run into that much time. Had I known that I would have taken it home did it myself self a hell of a lot quicker. And that's not just a thought. As you said shop was busy took longer And have a feeling I paid for shop space be in tied up. Either that or incompetents one peice should not have taken that long not to mention how does one know what goes on behind closed doors as ime not allowed back there. As I said a few times could have cut with cut off wheel full length of the 4 1/2"inches shaft down to bolts soaked them with penetrating oil. And still had parts of pulley to pull on. But I'm just the owner paying the bill. And furthermore how does one know how many hours you have can't bother to put hours on bill just wat you decide in labor. Talked to many mechanically inclined people and know one can figure out how it come to be that much labor. So I guess we'll disagree to disagree. If you feel your justified then I guess. There's no problem be reassured don't make it a habit making this much of a stink about a bill but know one give me a idea it taken that long. I figured 10 to 15 hours labor as you said should be 3 hours max so it's hard to fathom how cutting off pulley and pulling out seal and pounding new one in. cleaning up shaft installing pulley and dampener could come to wat I was told 24 hours labor. And I'm guessing a few that read that are mechanically inclined whould agree. And thank you for the use of the car did bring it back with more gas than it had when I took it. Sorry that we see things differently.
