Appliance Repair by Handyman Vac Center in New Holland, Pennsylvania

I called up on the phone and asked if this location did vacuum cleaner repair and provided the make and model of my vacuum cleaner. I was given the OK to bring the vacuum in, showed the issue and he said he could fix it. I paid the money, brought the vacuum back home and it was still broken with the same issue. I called in, stated it was still broken and was asked to bring it back to take a look. When I brought it back, I was told there was nothing wrong with it and it must be my carpet. Except I'd been using this vacuum for awhile on my carpets with no issues? And it just recently broke...Go figure. He was acting very strangely and not making much sense but insisted that my vacuum was fine despite me showing the video of the vacuum stalling. I tried to come to a resolution but was unable to do so. At one point he walked away and started dialing on the phone to get prescriptions filled. I thought perhaps he wasn't feeling well and tried to wait patiently thinking he needed medicine as he is an elderly man and I was trying to be respectful. Later I realized, he was actually being disrespectful of me, choosing to ignore me by walking away and had absolutely no interest in helping me. I tried to ask what the resolution was, but he didn't have an answer. I said I paid him money for something and it wasn't done, and he sarcastically said “oh it's only money you care about?” He pulls a wad of cash out of his back pocket and says “here take my money and never come back.” I wasn't sure what to do or if it was a trick as he was acting kind of aggressive. He then also told me why don't I take him to small claims court or bring my attorney in to look at his repair job. Hire an attorney? Is he serious? If that's the case, I'd be better off and just save myself the trouble and buy another vacuum. What a waste of my time and money. I would have gladly taken a refund had he offered, but I just ended up leaving the store. I wasn't sure what to do. My vacuum is still broken and he was paid for something he didn't fix on top of being extremely rude and unprofessional. Mostly, I just feel sorry for him that this is how he chooses to run his business and treat customers. It's extremely dishonest and I can clearly see I'm not the only one from the other customers with similar reviews. Charging someone for a repair service, not fixing it and then expecting that a customer can use the credit towards buying another vacuum in the store is unethical. I should be able to purchase a vacuum wherever I choose, and not be trapped into receiving a credit towards buying a vacuum in the store that he wants to sell me because he can't fix my vacuum. Also extremely dishonest. I should have just gotten my money back.
