I'd like to give two different & opposing ratings - 5 stars for sales & delivery & 0 for service, but since I can't I had to combine the two. >Parker's was recommended to me by a trusted friend. After reading their reviews online, I concurred. My fianc called to confirm the hours listed on the web & mentioned to the man he spoke with that I was looking for a new washer & because I was disappointed in the quality of my GE washer. He assured us that GE quality has improved a lot over the years since I purchased my last set giving a bit of a pitch toward them. Nothing pushy, I only mention this because when we got to the store, the woman who waited on us told us the exact opposite - that quality of GE appliances is still sub-par. >At the store we were greeted promptly but not intrusively. The sales woman was very knowledgeable, answering all of our questions patiently & some before I asked them. I appreciated her foresight & how attentive & genuinely pleasant she was. While she wrote up our purchase, the other staff were equally responsive to questions about delivery, setup, warranty, & service which Parker's provides for anything they sell. We finished our purchase & left the store pleased with the experience. >Monday morning my fianc waited at my house for the delivery. He said the young men who delivered the appliances were also polite, friendly, & knowledgeable, as well as quick with the setup. That evening I looked over the appliances noting two scratches on the left front of the washer, 1 just below the other. The control panel was also quite loose on the right side. Afterward, there was a puddle of water on the floor where the two hoses connected to drain the washer into my wash tub didn't seal tightly. The setup is in my basement on a cement floor so this was minor but we called the store that night & were told someone would be down in the morning to look at the scratches & tighten the control panel & hose. >This is where things declined - The next day my fianc met the repairman at my house, I'm told he was excessively arrogant & outspoken from start to finish. Continually touting his many years of servicing “all of Parker's appliances” & his “knowledge & expertise” while voicing strong disapproval of the original setup of the appliances as incorrect & careless though we preferred it over his because of the back splash he created. >He also complained repeatedly that he felt the scratches were insignificant & not worth his time or effort as the 2 panels that would need replaced would probably be scratched more in the process & “she's going to have this unit all scratched up in a few weeks any way.” I kept my last appliances in excellent condition, after 13 years they had only 1 minor scratch & were exceptionally clean inside and out. Also I paid 1,900+ for this set, so not top-of the line but, for me, not chump-change either so I didn't appreciate the cavalier attitude. >Since the panel was now tight & assuming the hose problem was fixed, I started a load & left the room. When I came back, my entire floor was flooded with water, the wall behind the machines was soaked and there was water up inside both machines. We called Parker's this morning to let them know what transpired. Store personnel were polite & professional. They did not offer to make things right, or replace the machines but they are picking up the appliances tomorrow. As soon as my refund comes through, I will be purchasing elsewhere, which is a shame because I genuinely liked the set, the store personnel, & the fact the company is family owned but I didn't pay that much to be willing to accept a damaged & now flooded set.
