I recently made the mistake of calling Auchinachie to check out what I thought to be a leaking pipe behind an interior wall in my house. When Paul the "plumber" arrived he looked at the problem for all of two minutes before he jumped to the conclusion that I had a water main break that would require the excavation of my front lawn and cost up to 7000. Naturally I was concerned and made a down payment of 2300 in order to get the job going. Two days later, at the request of Auchinachie, the water dept. showed up to mark out the lines. After assessing the situation they told me that I had no such break in the water main. When the excavator arrived shortly after I passed this info along, and with the operators help took a closer look at the wall. As it turns out it was a leaking pipe after all. I then spoke with Paul the "plumber" who told me that to fix the pipe and replace the wall it would coincidentally cost exactly what I payed for the down payment. While this annoyed me I agreed to it for the sake of convenience. Auchinachie then sent out 2 technicians to fix the pipe, which they did and did well. I was told they would send out a crew to fix the wall in a couple of days. It is coming up on 2 months and the wall is still not fixed. Auchinachie is taking the position that under 3 hours of work and approximately 5 feet of replacement pipe is all that my 2300 dollars bought me. I disagree! If you are in need of plumbing work use anyone else. This company is dishonest and downright criminal. And on a side note Paul is incompetent. If you still, for whatever reason decide to use Auchinachie, and Paul shows up at your door I recommend slamming it in his face.
