Went to HD to get a quote on chain link fence. Asked for Chris as directed by svc desk earlier. Cheryl said she would take care of it and then spent the better part of 2 hours thumbing frantically thru books, trying to work the printer and arguing with Chris who was little help. I had a pic of the wire I was ordering and was told I should not order it.... they would do so... Repeated my desire to order my own wire but she just kept running over us. The final straw was when I asked about who would install the fence and was advised they have NO fence contractors. Did they think 2 80 year old chronically ill people could put up the fence? When I got home and reviewed the sheaf of papers I received, I found I had been charged with the materials... still on the shelf! I returned and received a refund for the store items but was refused refund for wire ordered until it comes to store where I have to go and refuse it. This, after I cancelled the order less than 12 hours after it was made. I BELIEVE THE EMPLOYEE INVOLVED THOUGHT WE WERE OLD AND EASLILY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.... STORIES RUN RAMPANT OF HD IN OTHER CITIES INCREASING PRICES ON SMALL JOBS FOR THE ELDERLY BECAUSE THE JOB TO BE DONE WAS NOT PROFITABLE ENOUGH. IF YOU ARE ELDERLY AVOID. HD.
