We looked up the nearest auto shop, found Ely Auto Services, and headed over. It was clearly a very busy day but they found time to squeeze us in. My boys and I waited in the cleanest, most comfortable waiting room with the cutest puppy, Charlie, to entertain us and love. Before too long we learned that the muffler had been re-attached and we were set to continue our vacation. Ely Auto Services refused payment and Amy sent us on our way with the message to simply pay it forward. The small town goodness we experienced here in Ely was one of the highlights of our wonderful vacation Up North. We look forward to paying it forward now that we are back home in Minneapolis.
