Nathan M | Disappointed in their not posted no-return policy. I especially like to shop local whenever I am able, so when I recently found myself in need of some new bedroom furniture pieces, I tried this place first. It's a small store but has some nice quality pieces. I bought a small dresser that I felt would work. I brought it home myself to avoid the 15 delivery fee. The next day, I realized it would not work in the space. I really needed something shorter, but wider. That Saturday I went back, but they had closed for their local festival. I can only get there on weekends, so the following weekend I went back again. When I explained what I wanted to do, the young man said it could not be returned because he would now have to sell it as used furniture. I explained it wasn't used. I had done no more than take it from the box. He persisted that even if I hadn't used it, it still left their store. I tried explaining I would likely be spending more money because I wanted a different dresser, larger, from the same collection, and a matching bookcase. He apologized but said he could still not return the first dresser. I explained that I would not be shopping there any more, as I could never patronize a business with an "all sales final, no return policy" that wasn't posted. I left defeated, and sad, but not angry. Its just disappointing to me that this is their policy. Policies like this are contributing to the death of small town business against bigger box stores in larger towns. I took my business to GR, confident I could return the piece if I didn't like it, or it didnt fit the space. Wouldn't recommend them unless you are 110 certain what you are buying won't need returned or exchanged. |
