Therese Livermore | Came out to repair my new Electrolux dryer. Not yet a year old.The drum wouldn't tumble more than 2 shirts at a time. I contacted Electrolux for service and I was scheduled for Wed. The owner called me on Tues. and asked me if he could come out and take a look at the dryer to see what parts it may need. He also stated that he would fix it if he had the parts that day. He came out and talked amongst his co-worker. Rattling off a bunch of parts that it needed. Told me that he would contact me that evening after he obtained the parts needed for the repair. I asked if he was keeping the original Wed. appointment and he said contingent upon getting the parts and that he would let me know. I didn't receive a call from the owner on Tues. evening as he stated. I called him and he said that he was still waiting on the parts and that he would come out Fri. morning at 9:00 am. He would call to confirm. He didn't call and showed up at 10:00 on Fri. He associate took the dryer apart while making comments the entire time. I had the feeling that something may be wrong but was apprehensive to say anything. I really felt that my hands were tied. I needed my dryer fixed and I didn't want to upset him. He then shouted out to me stating that the dryer was fixed. I asked what was wrong. He said that a part became loose and he refastened it. I thought "Why did he order all of those parts, then?" This didn't seem right, but I was pleased to have my dryer working again. He then proceeded to complain about how my dryer was hooked up to the exhaust. I explained that I hired a professional to install all new venting and fittings for my new washer and dryer prior to receiving it. I also had the washer and dryer installed by a professional.He talked over me and stated that it wasn't done correctly. Even though I had never had a problem previously. I put a load of towels in to dry and my entire laundry room filled up with exhaust. I pulled the dryer away from the wall and the vent wasn't connected. It is so damaged, bent and jagged that it no longer fits. I am once again without my dryer. I contacted Great Oaks and Electrolux. I asked that he come back because I also noticed that he didn't put the dryer panels back correctly. There is now a big gap between the panels. He said that he couldn't come back today because I didn't have the correct venting. This is a appliance repair guy? I reported all of this to Electrolux. The service rep called him and he lied to her stating that he told me prior to making the repair. He never said anything to me regarding that prior to him taking part my dryer. I am so upset! I am also concerned that my dryer hasn't been repaired correctly. I wouldn't recommend doing business with Great Oaks Appliance Service. Terrible service! |
Craig Piechura | Great job. Fair price. Prompt. Courteous. The guy owner Rick was well prepared and very professional. He came the same day he we called at the time he said he would arrive and had everything he needed on hand. We kept his card and will call him again if we need another service call on any appliance in the house. He was done in about 40 minutes and the problem with our refrigerator was solved. And he didn't try to sell us stuff we didn't need or some extended service warranty like some places. |
