I'm trying to decide which was the bigger mistake: buying an inexpensive Dell laptop or trying to get it fixed through the Geek Squad. A few months after purchase, the keyboard stopped working. I brought it to GS for repair. They have no loaners in spite of the fact that I purchased the most expensive warranty. 10 days after it was dropped off at the South Portland store, it was delivered to my home. The keyboard stopped working three weeks later and the GS manager admitted that the repair was not done. The manager guaranteed that this time, the repair would be escalated and the solution to a loaner is that I could buy another laptop and then return it. And, oh, by the way, eight days after "escalating" the repair, still no laptop. Calling the store is impossible, to the point where there is no voicemail. When I finally got the manager on the phone, the answer is, "I have to check--I can't tell you when the repair will be done." Lesson learned.
