My first customer experience with this shop was in 2007 when I bought a new Simplicity vacuum. I took it faithfully year after year for servicing, but of course, along the way, it finally bit the dust. A couple weeks ago I began searching and asking people about various vacuums. As I am older now, I wanted something lightweight and checked a few brand options on-line and went to Bob's Original Sweeper Shop and found a new Riccar that was lighter but still of the Simplicity quality. I asked about a future "Black Friday" deal and they told me they would have 100 off, and I also lamented that I had purchased a 6-pack of vacuum bags for my old vacuum sometime ago and still had 4 left when my vacuum broke and also an unused filter. I came in Black Friday and got my new vacuum with 4-year warranty at the reduced cost, plus they gave me credit for unused bags and filter of course, it helped that I had the receipt from 2018 for those items, but it just made me feel better that I got credit for unusable items. I am happy with my vacuum. All sales reps I encounter at Bob's are knowledgeable and very nice. It is my vacuum shop of choice.

The original sweeper shop has been around for a long time and I purchased a Simplicity Vacuum there several years ago. The people working there have always been very pleasant to deal with. They sold me a “top of the line” simplicity synergy vacuum for over 800. This was a lot to pay for just a vacuum but my Hoover was in for repairs and they convinced saying it would possibly be the last vacuum I ever bought and touted the warranty. The first year was uneventful and I always kept up with the maintenance schedule. Years 2-4 saw several repairs thankfully under warranty. I mentioned each time I was surprised it continued to fail but I was glad to not have to pay. Well, warranty was over and this machine was in annually for repairs. A new cord, a new power switch, the seals went bad. LED bulbs stopped working. The latch broke. The latch broke again. The bumper guard fell off, the lock mechanism broke. It goes on. This vacuum was used very lightly, usually an hour or so once a week and was treated very well because it was so expensive. Well last week the motor blew. Over 250 to fix. I tried to get the company to cover part of the repair for good will. They declined but suggested I talk to Bob Kirkwood. I left several voicemails and it took him an entire week to call me back. He left a voicemail because I missed the call and I called him back about 10 min later but got his voicemail so I left another again with the reason I was calling. He never called back. I waited a week then just gave up and let them repair it. It's been 3 weeks and he's never called. I would not recommend this business or their products. It's basically all a scam to get you to pay 800 for a 300 vacuum. Dyson has a similar warranty. If I were you I'd buy a Dyson and save enough money to buy a second one when the first one fails. The Simplicity doesn't live up to the name and the sweeper shop won't stand behind what they sell when something goes wrong.

The Kirkwoods here are top notch. I took my vacuum for service and they took the time to explain everything to me about what was wrong and how to fix it. They treated me like family. Highly recommend
