My mom bought a refrigerator from Sears and had it delivered on December 6, 2018. On May 15, 2019, I visited her and noticed the refrigerator was warm and all of her food was spoiled. She had been out of town for a couple of days and did not know. The freezer was frozen over in the back. I threw all the food out and defrosted the freezer. By May 17th, the refrigerator had only cooled down to 58 degrees and the freezer was 25 degrees. I called and was told the only available appointment if she wanted repair under warranty was for May 24, 2019 the window for service was "8am - 5pm" and the service technician will call when he is on the way. The telephone tech said that the warranty would cover the entire call as long as the problem is "the refrigerator is not cooling properly." If they find another issue, the call will not be under warranty and she will be charged. So, mom has to go 6 days without a refrigerator, then sit by her phone landline, not cell phone all day waiting for a call, and possibly have to pay for the inconvenience of a 5 month old refrigerator not working if the service technician decides something else is wrong. It was obvious by his tone of voice that the telephone tech couldn't have cared less. I'm surprised they are still in business if this is the quality of service they offer. Sears will not be getting any business from our family in the future.
