Limping towards Beloit, 50 mph. Find Thompson's OK tire via internet. Call, yes they have a replacement tire. Cool. Limp in to Thompson's. One of the technician's breaks away from a big money truck on a rack. Takes the bad wheel assembly an strips the shredded tire off, begins installation of the tire we had called for. The other technician raises the car removes the donut assembly. By then new tire is on the wheel so he takes it an places it on the car hub. Technician one takes the donut tire, checks the air pressure on it, then checks for excessive wear on the opposite side. Technician two is done. Technician one is done. Donut is placed in the trunk along with the jack. We're ready to continue our road trip within 15 minutes of arriving. We only lost about 30 minutes of travel time because of the laser like customer focus of these guys at Thompson's OK Tires in Beloit, KS. We arrived at our destination by sunset. We have gone somewhere else to have our tires fixed recently since the last tire Thompson said they fixed was still going flat, since then we have not had a single problem with our tires going flat!! |
