Appliance Repair by Rob & Theresa Schwartz Contracting in Seymour, Indiana

We originally hired Rob because of the good google reviews and his claim that he came from a wholsome Amish background with generations of builders experience, but in reality he proved to be very difficult to work with throughout the whole process. It turns out Robs memory is going away due to his advance age which was confirmed by his own workers who said he'd been loosing his memory a lot. Rob would apppear to listen at to our plans for a total remodel and even take notes, but in reality he'd often do the opposite of what we wanted. We told him we wanted marble kitchen countertops and then he only budgeted for cheap compost. A gutter was installed the wrong way causing the basement to flood and ruining several of our personal belongings although it was eventually reinstalled correctly, I had to do the cleanup on my own. As things started to devolve I decided to take time off work and supervise the process myself since Rob couldn't be bothered to show up most of the times due to his obligations with 7 other ongoing projects. At one point he threatened to break the terms of our contract when he refused to follow instructions on exactly how I wanted the new fireplace to look. I ended up building the fireplace mantel myself causing him to throw a tantrum and start ranting about how he didn't like me as a person. Rob never showed up to mandatory inspections, but and would send someone else in their place. I ended up putting my life on hold to manage the remodel and it was a good thing too, because the workers although friendly would make many mistakes like trying to reinstall doors upside down and sanding off inches to make them fit. Only a year later I find out Rob hadn't ordered the gas fireplace insert I specified. He didn't even bother ordering it from the right company and when a component needed to be replaced I found out Rob had ordered a cheap knockoff which makes me wonder what he did with the 600 he saved, by pretending to buy what I'd originally asked for. Two years later the houses exterior paint is peeling off. I suspect part of the problem was Rob's prejudice of two men living and raising children together, but he is also likely becoming senile which seems to confuse and agitate him. I don't even care that his workers would take breaks in the backyard to smoke pot and they themselves did a good job, but Rob himself was a nightmare on the rare occasion that he actually showed up. By the way he quoted us 150 to build a fireplace mantel and when I took it down to redo it the way I wanted he chewed me out and claimed I'd destroyed a 500 project.

We had a new roof, windows, soffit, gutter, flooring and some repairs under the house, as well as a wall in the house, done with Schwartz. The team was amazing! They are respectful, hard working and professional. They took their time making sure everything they did was perfect. We couldn't be happier with the work the guys did and will call them anytime we need anything done to the house! You can't go wrong with Schwartz!

Rob & Theresa Schwartz Contracting are a very professional company. The work is excellent, affordable, and done in a timely manner. The employees are polite and made sure to have a clean job site at the end of the day.
