Appliance Repair by Southport Discount Appliance in Indianapolis, Indiana

I don't give one star reviews. But this is by far the worst experience I've had buying an appliance. I've been extremely patient with John Greer the owner, but I simply can't believe folks do business this way. I bought a used fridge over a year ago and paid top dollar for a good used fridge 1,284. I was told if the ice maker didn't work he would fix it for free but he couldn't test it in his shop. I called the day after it was delivered and told John the ice maker doesn't work. For the next 11mo I must have called John 15 times to ask the status of the parts and I was told what I can only explain now as lies. Long story short I returned the fridge and was told I would receive a full refund. Three months later I have not collected one penny from John. I've been extremely patient and kind. But unfortunately I can only conclude that John Greer is a thief and has taken my money. I have 5 children and we do our best to make ends meet, needless to say this is a blow to our budget. Now I will drive an hour each way to file with the court to try and recoup some of this money. I hold nothing against John but I also don't want anyone else being lied to and stolen from. Please don't do business with Southport appliance.

The most disrespectful customer service I have ever dealt with. The dishwasher we were supposed to receive a month ago has yet to be installed. We have had several times scheduled to have this installed and they no called no showed every time. When I call, the guy tries to blame me for being hard to get a hold of when I've only missed one call from them, which i called back. Then one of the days they had scheduled and no call no showed, i called and they said they didn't even have the dishwasher yet it was on back order.... which i understand being on back order but how can you schedule a time to install it when you don't even have it...... and then don't even inform your customer of that. I didn't hear from them for two weeks. Called them asking what was going on. They finally got a dishwasher out to us, which they picked up from Lowe's. When they took it out of the box it look like it had been hit by a fork truck. The installers called their boss and he tried to tell them to install it anyways. WHAT!? Luckily my boyfriend was there to tell them to take it back. When I called to schedule a time for the next day, the guy told me he'd call me back. Never did. So i left a message on their answering machine at 7:15pm checked my call log. He calls me the next day saying you cant leave a message at 10pm and expect us to answer just a flat out lie. Literally the biggest POS i have ever spoken to. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere like the rest of these reviews say.
