Appliance Repair by Benson’s Appliance, Sales and Repair Service in Pekin, Illinois

I was lucky enough to have my grandfather come into Benson's to look for a dishwasher for me. He went in first was told a certain price, when we went back a sexist comment was made about how I am a dishwasher and he did not need to buy one. Do not get me wrong I can take a joke, but not in a place of business. As the purchasing process continued the Sales manager continued to rant about how children cannot fend for themselves, this was because as my Christmas present my grandfather was purchasing for me, then another couple was helping their daughter buy a washer and dryer because she was a single mother of three. This rant continued for 10 minutes. I should have walked out but I am a firm believer in purchasing from small business. The item we looked at was stainless steel and when that was the one I wanted I was told it would be an additional 100 but he would meet me in the middle and charge an extra 50, not to mention it would be the floor model with multiple scratches on it. We asked if the price could be knocked down to the original price of 600 and was told no. We left after purchasing and the comments continued to bother me. But the delivery was free and did not want to pay the additional for set-up when we could figure it out on our own. At delivery, the delivery drivers would not even set it in my house, they said "bosses orders" and sat it on my porch, forcing my husband and I to carry it in ourselves. My grandfather heard this and went down to the store to ask why, they said they would get back to him and have yet to do so. Luckily it was light. I am giving them 2 stars because the buying process was easy, when in reality they should have only got 1 star. While I love the product and fully support local businesses, I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HERE AGAIN

Extremely horrible experience. A guy came out twice to fix my washer and it's still not fixed. After some complaining about it not being fixed and the tech being very rude and even yelling at my husband, someone else was supposed to come out today. My husband called to confirm, and they said they don't want him as a customer. Fine by me....

I want to give Jeff from Benson's a huge shout out! Last friday evening I discovered my washing machine wasn't working so I called Bensons and left a voice mail. The next day he came over i the morning gave it an inspection and figured out the problem right away! He got the part ordered and installed it today! I give my experience an A+ and I thank Jeff for being personable and diligent! I know who to call in the future for any unforeseen issues! Thanks again!
