Sophie Medvig | When the brakes on my car stopped working, I had to have it towed to the nearest garage: Genoa Automotive Repair. It was a Friday, and I was told I wouldn't be hearing from them until their first opening the following Wednesday. Wednesday came and went, and I heard nothing. On Thursday, mid-afternoon, I realized they weren't going to call me, so I made the call myself. The man I spoke with presumed to tell me that he'd have to replace my fuel lines as well to get to my brake lines and was going to charge me over 1000 for the repairs. He wouldn't give me an exact price, only that it would be over 1000. He was also unable to tell me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, implying he hadn't even looked at it properly yet, despite my appointment being the day before and him having my car for several days. The only thing actually wrong with my car was a small leak in the brake line that was clearly visible as plain as day to anyone who could look underneath the car. I didn't appreciate the obvious scam and rudeness over the phone, so I took my car elsewhere. I highly recommend anyone reading this avoid giving this irreputable mechanic any of their business. |
