Irene Walshe | The first service was a total disaster. The young man didn't have a clue of what he was doingI later heard he was new and in trainig. I called to have someone fix my WORKING dryer, which had a noise that I thought was a coin. Turns out the he caused a short circuit, burned my dryer and took out a piece that was vital to the dryer. He told us to throw it out, but I kept it because it was a big part and it sounded suspicious. When I tried my dryer the next day, it over-heated, almost scorched my clothes and finally died. I was charged for a "cleaning", but later found out he didn't clean anything. I called customer service and they said they would send someone to check. They tried to charge me again, with the pretext that it was another issue; the dryer was NOT working. No sh..!, they burned it! This new man was very polite and knowledgable. We showed him the scorched part of the dryer we were supposed to throw out and he was amazed. This was an important part of the dryer! He noticed that the electronic board was burned out and Sears didn't have the parts. He sincerely suggested to buy a new dryer. The customer service was terrible except for the first time I complained They were blaming me for everything. I am still waiting for them to respond. My husband has stage IV cancer and I'm constantly washing and drying clothes, towels and sheets. I really want to warn everyone to take photos. |

Edu001 | I had a terrible experience since day 1. Sears rescheduled my service appointment 4 times. Today, a tech calls me to say that there is nothing much he can do to solve external odor issues and wanted to confirm if I really wanted him to come over. He said that all he could do is vacum the coils and it is not guaranteed to remove the bad smell as I already cleaned the drip pan. He also told me the visit would cost 104.94 instead of the 89 posted on the web site. I told the tech to cancel the visit based on the information he provided. I called customer service right after to express how disappointed I got with Sears. All the rescheduling, wrong repair cost, and just find out they possibly cannot solve the issue anyway. The representative on the phone said I would have to pay for the visit because it was canceled at the last minute!!! I asked to speak to a supervisor who assured me I would not be charged for this cancelation. Terrible and very frustrating is not even close to describe the experience I had with Sears, on a service that ended up not even happening. I'm off to try a local repair shop now and confident the customer service cannot be worse that what I got from Sears. |
