Our refrigerator stopped working on a Sunday evening, I called Hartman Appliance repair the next day and they sent a technician out. He assessed the situation and advised it was the circulation fan and quoted us a price of 468.00 to repair and we had to pay half that and he advised us he would be out the next day to replace it. He did not arrive until later in the afternoon and installed the new fan at which he then determined the fan was not the problem, so he reinstalled the old fan and said it was the board in the door. I had done some research on my own and asked him if it may perhaps be the main control board to which he replied, without even looking at this board, that it was more than likely the one he said. So again he said he would order the new one and come the next day to install it. The next day he arrived at around 6:00pm and installed that board and again the problem was not corrected. I would also like to add the tech did not even know how to remove the board and I had to tell him how to remove it. He then looked at the main control board, which I had mentioned the day before, and advised me that he thought it was that one. At this point I had had enough with this company and took care of the matter myself. I called the company the next business day and requested a refund of all my money except the service call and was advised they would not refund us the diagnostic fee and I advised them that all their tech did was change parts and did no diagnosis, I had provided him with the diagnosis. They did refund the cost of the part. |
