Susyn Stecchi | I pretty much love every Home Depot. Except this one. I am a military veteran and Home Depot is supposed to have a 10 or 15 only on Vets Day discount for military veterans. I have both my DD214, which is my VA required proof of military service, and my Florida Driver's License with the Veteran designation on it after the State of Florida also verified my veteran's status. When i asked for the military discount at the register, showing my Florida driver's license with Veterans designation, the cashier told me she would get in trouble if she accepted that and could not give me the discount. I also had my DD214, and she said she could only accept that on Veterans Day. I requested a manager, and the manager would not accept either identification as well! Lowe's has added my military status to my phone number and i get 15 off every time i shop there as a thank you for my military service. The Crystal River Home Depot, which says their discount is only 10, won't even give the discount to veterans with their DD214! However, other Home Depots have given me the discount just by showing my drivers license with Veterans designation, but not the Crystal River Home Depot. Because of this store's disrespectful treatment of veterans, i will NEVER shop here again. If you are a veteran or respect this country's veterans, steer clear of this store. I, along with all veterans, deserved better treatment than that. |
Ellen Carson | I purchased an Aluminum patio door including installation approx. 07/06./18 This door is seldom used,so to my surprise today I had a closure issue , the door was coming apart in different areas. My gutter man was here and told me my door had to be replaced because who ever the installer was had no idea how to install a door correctly. He explained he never removed the old door jam before installing the new one, that is why all the screws are stripped and the door could not work properly, now this door has to be replaced . I am so upset that I decided to contact Home Depot about the inferior work of their installer. I have no knowledge of this type of work that is why I depended on your company to take care of this for me. Now I must pay again for a job that I thought was taken care of properly. How come you do not have a inspection of your installations? |
Danny Newsome | As many have mentioned here, I'm a retired veteran with 23 yrs of military service. I'm not one who typically asks for discounts but with the costs, I incur at home improvement stores it's always nice to ask. The discount usually covers the cost of Tax. I spent 200.00 today asked about the discount, showed my RETIRED military ID was told they didn't accept that for the discount ? Being one who refrains from making a scene or demands a courtesy I accepted the response and paid my bill in full. From today forward I will only shop at Lowe's who constantly give this discount as a matter of fact they ask everytime to ensure I don't forget to mention it. Thank You Lowe's, and goodbye to Home Depot. I normally like to support business that support our military and apparently Home Depot is not on that list. |
