Dave Silverstein | Buyer beware! I purchased the used refrigerator and washer dryer in the photos from Carlo's appliances, for a rental property and spent around 1,200. Within a few months the fan stopped working on the refrigerator and it's costing 125 dollars to fix. The bigger issues are the washer has a bad pump and doesn't pump enough water out of the washer, so the clothes are too wet when placed in the dryer. This was a problem from day one of the purchase and is costing me 275 to fix. Additionally, the dryer is impacted with lint, beyond the ability to clear with normal means and the dryer has a recall from the manufacturer for a surge protector, which I have installed, myself. I called Carlo's Appliances to discuss and was told it would be a 40.00, "Cash Only" service call for Carlos to come pick up the appliances and diagnose them at the shop. I agreed to pay the 40.00, but I was out of town and couldn't pay him cash. I offered to pay him with a credit card over the phone, via Venmo or Paypal, but he wanted only cash and there was no way to facilitate, this so I called another appliance company, who made an onsite visit. I would be much more forgiving if, it was just one problem, but there was a pattern here of selling bad merchandise and a bad attitude on top of that. Carlos needs to join the 21st Century and check out the used merchandise before it leaves the store. Update: Washer broke down again and it cost another 175 to fix. Thank you for the response Carlos. It's good to know you are working on your businesses reputation. However, blaming any of my bad experience on your staff is an omission of the facts. You sold me the appliances and when I called for repairs, you were telling the employee I was speaking with, what to say. I could hear you. |
