I have never left a review before, but I hope that sharing my experience will help someone who is searching for appliance repair. The technician that serviced my washer was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and kind. He knew exactly what was wrong without even looking at it and had the part available in his vehicle. He fixed it right away. Because he was so knowledgeable, I asked him to replace a switch on my dryer as well. Little did I know what I was asking for. Both machines were repaired in less than a half hour, and when we sat down at my dining table to discuss payment I was overly shocked. Two 7-10 part replacements originally cost 270! The technician said he could tell that I was upset, so he knocked off 65 leaving me at 230 after taxes were applied. Although appreciative of his efforts, that still seems completely unreasonable to me for 2 parts that cost less than 10 each and half an hour of labor to perform both repairs. They charge per appliance and not by labor and parts. Each technician also charges what they want to because they're 1099 employees. I called manager to get clarification on charges, and manager felt as if I'd been provided a good deal. Prior to calling Central One, I was looking to replace the two units with used ones via private sale. Most washer dryer pairs were priced around 250-300. I could have purchased a used but working set for the same price I paid for two 10 part replacements. Again, very knowledgeable and kind technician, but I will purchase new or fix it myself if/when faced with future appliance repair needs. Please, get informed prior to incurring any costs from Central One.
