I called around to get it repaired but a few companies I talked to said that the unit was so old it would be better to replace it. A few days later my new washer and dryer were installed and the day after that the dryer was doing the same thing as the old one. The warranty company came out to check the dryer and found that a high temperature safety device had failed and the technician explained that the reason was that the vent from the dryer to the outside of the house was restricted. He referred us to dryer vent pros and they came out that day and got a garbage bag full of lint out of the vent. Our dryer is working fine now but just a little bummed that all this trouble and expense was caused by my dryer vent being plugged. |
