Appliance Repair by American Home Shield in Kinzers, Pennsylvania

Please do not buy this, they have the worst customer service ever. Am here week number two right now, they haven't come or call to fix my stuff. Am paying monthly premiums and they even take a 100 deductible but they are not coming to fix. They signed me up with a company to come and see my fridge and microwave, the company didn't call at all and then later to find out that the company could not fix my microwave. They changed the company but until now, I haven't heard from them. Better for me to save money on my own or find those companies which let you pay a certain amount a year and they can come and fix it. I am done with them once they come and fix my fridge and microwave. I wish there was an option to give zero stars. Find something else to do with your money than signing up with them. Every time I call, is like no one knows about the claim I filed with them and they have to start all over again.

On Yelp 16 reviews and the highest review is 2 stars... that says a lot. Here on Google 215 reviews and a 1 and a half star rating. That's pretty consistent across the board. I've never done business with a company that's rated so low. Wish I would have seen these reviews as well before I contracted with American Home Shield. This company not only contracts out work to extremely unscrupulous contractors but they themselves are deceitful. I've only had them a few months and recently needed to request service for a steam boiler return leak - a fairly simple and straightforward repair. Yet It has been the most frustrating experience of my life having to deal with this company as well as the disreputable contractor that they assigned my service request to. Ultimately I opted to go with what they call a 'cash out' for the service that was covered under my plan since my only options were to have to deal with the dreadful plumbing company that they assigned, or pay another deductible for them to reassign it to what I'm sure would just be a similarly shady company. I have no idea how this 'cash out' is going to pan out since I have to sit and wait for them to call me with a value that they're willing to reimburse. And my understanding is that once they provide a value and I submit my receipt for the work that was completed the same day by the company that I hired on my own, it will take 14 to 21 days for me to receive a check in the mail. Needless to say this contract will be terminated. For those thinking about contracting with this company, DON'T DO IT...YOU WILL REGRET IT!! You're better off just putting some money aside every month and handling any unexpected repairs that way because this company will not help you in any way. They will just take your money and aggravate you when you try to get something repaired under your contract. Here's all I needed done...

Run away fast! Charge you upfront for services that do not get completed, refused refunds for incomplete work, will pay for the cheapest possible fix our kitchen sink would be unusable for over 30 days and it would still only be a patch job after they order parts. Customer service is a joke and refuse to work with the customer for anything. Don't waste your money on this one.
