Taddy Kalas | Easily the worst repair experience I've ever had. The icemaker on my fridge had been working intermittently only. The repairman said I needed new sensors, which sounded reasonable. He installed them and left. Several hours later, still no ice. It was clear that he had neglected to hook something up. I called Sears and was told they couldn't process my request -- or apparently, even write it down -- that day because the "ticket" was still "open." I had to call back the following morning. I was told the earliest someone could come back to undo the damage done by their "repair" was ten days later. That day was today. I was given an arrival "time frame" of 8-5. !!!! I waited at home all day, cancelling several events. At 4:45 I called and received an automated response telling me that the arrival time was estimated at between 3:45 and 5:45. At 6:45 I called again, and was told by an automated voice that my appointment had now been scheduled for Jan. 3. I finally succeeded in speaking to a person, who could only tell me that I had been rescheduled for Jan. 3 when I will be out of town. Her only response to my situation was to repeat that all she could do was read the schedule to me; she couldn't reschedule. I have also tried their online "chat" service, and their e-mail contact center, and no one can help me. I have replaced a partially functioning appliance with a non-functioning one, thanks to Sears' intervention. And I've paid 300 for the privilege. |
