My technician was great and polite and competent but the company outrageously overcharges about 1,000/hr. They don't apply their diagnosis fee toward the repair like most places. First they thought the problem was a blown fuse, they were going to charge 130 or something just to replace the fuse. The fuse was 5 at Home Depot. That ended up not fixing it. Turned out the compressor got zapped in a surge. My system was less than 5 years old and was still under warranty. Their repair charge was 2,000. They told me it was about 1300 in labor and 700 in parts and that it would probably take him a couple hours to get it in when the parts got in. 1300 sounds like a lot for 2 hours of labor and I couldn't get them to explain how the parts would cost 700 under warranty. I called another big chain for a second quote the next morning and they ended up charging me 1000 for the whole job. I finally figured out when it is under warranty the company charges a core charge to make sure the part is really bad. Comfort Experts was just going to stick me with the core charge then pocket it when they turned it in. With air conditioning you are in a bind in the heat and can't wait on multiple options, so there should be a trust factor they will treat you with a fair price. I definitely would not recommend them although they were easy to work with and seemed like they would do fine work.
