BFC05 | Cannot recommend. Nice guys, however our experience left us to believe not much expertise. They charged a very high price for a repair and still never fixed the appliance. We relied on their “professional opinion” and the appliance still does not work. When they told us they would follow up on the issue we still have not heard back. Very disappointing and costly. |
Scot Stevig | This has been the most difficult review I have ever written. Like most people who have poor experiences with businesses, especially small, local ones I left my last encounter with this “Father & Son” business feeling defeated, and powerless. Both of them are very nice people. With this being said, when I saw that ALL of their reviews are 5 stars, it dawned on me that real live people, who are also often struggling with their own life challenges look to these reviews to make an important and often scary decision. Where to spend my money is a scary and often expensive decision. In my case this time it was “Who am I going to call to fix my washer and dryer”. Even small decisions like where to have dinner or ice cream....more and more of us are turning to online reviews, and sadly more and more of these reviews are not reflective of the truth. I initially contacted this “Father & Son” business for a dryer that wasn't working properly. They came to my home, and spent about 10 minutes. They didn't even open up and look at the inside, where presumably the broken part was. I thought it was odd, but I trusted them when they told me it needed a specific part. Later, after they left I received a phone call from the father. Their supplier didn't have the part in stock, and it would need to be ordered. I said “okay”. He asked me if I wanted to pay for expedited delivery. If I said yes, he would be able to fix the dryer in a few days. If I chose regular delivery, I would be looking at waiting two weeks to get it repaired. It would be an extra approximately 30, but for me it was worth it, so I said yes. Two weeks later I received a call from the father “I just wanted to touch base with you, and let you know the part has been delayed”. Lucky for me, during this two weeks my dryer had magically started working again. I told him that. I had already paid them 300. He suggested he hold onto the part once it came in, and when the dryer needed to be fixed again, he would put the part in then. In hindsight I should have asked for my money back, minus the 80 visit charge at that time, but like I usually do, I trusted that they had my best interest at heart, so I followed his recommendation. About six weeks later my washer stopped working. Of course I called them again to come take a look. It took multiple phone calls from me to them, and it took two months to finally get a visit. Within 10 minutes they diagnosed that the washer motor needed to be replaced. Given all the hassle I went through, I just wanted my money back by this point. Their solution was that they give me the dryer part and then sell the dryer with the part included and apparently dispose of the 1,200 washer and sell the 1,200 dryer the washer and dryer are a 24” Bosch set I purchased about 10 years ago for a condo I had in a city. I was completely stunned, but I just wanted the entire experience to be over, so I didn't argue. They are nice people, but when it comes to business I would not recommend them. |
Mary Crosby | He was quick to find the problem and got the necessary part and fixed the problem. The price was fair and he correctly said that the problem with another appliance was not the appliance but the breaker saving us time and money. Very pleasant and professional. |
