The serviceman arrived without the advance phone call that I requested. He stated that he had not worked on a gas furnace like mine before and that it sounded normal. I explained that we had not heard the sound it was making until that day so he took off the cover. He said that he could not tell whether or not the part was going to fail, that he couldn't fix it, that it probably would be very expensive and that I should consider replacing the furnace. He said the furnace was safe and then spent more time in his truck preparing the paperwork on his tablet than he spent in my home. The service call was worthless. One star for his arrival within the promised time window on Thanksgiving.
