Michael Hogsten | I am a life-long, but now, disappointed Sears customer. I still have a Sears Card, own Kenmore appliances and have always seen Sears as a honorable company that provides quality products and good service. I contacted Sears for the repair of our Washing Machine in Tellico Plains, Tennessee. When we arranged the repair appointment by phone, the Sears representative said that there would be a 89 service charge, but if we did the repair, they would apply this toward the repair labor. We received an appointment confirmation - with an 8:00am to 5:00pm repair window. Around 11:30am we received emails and texts advising that the technician was driving to our house. The technician never showed and late in the afternoon we started calling Sears to find out what happened. Sears said that the technician was not coming because of unsafe conditions. It was a beautiful day. Later we received an invoice by email for 97 - saying that we declined service. I then spent more than an hour on the phone - trying to get this straightened out. The Sears rep said that they would log our dispute of the charge and reschedule the appointment. She also promised that we would hear from Sears within 24 to 48 hours. We are still waiting. Five days later, when a technician arrived for the "first available" appointment, the repair took five minutes, to install parts costing 2.51. We then received an emailed invoice for 226.70. According to what we agreed with Sears, this repair should have cost 99.97. I tried to reach Sears again by phone three times. When I finally had a rep agree to transfer me to the "escalation team" the line disconnected. I am posting this review with the hope that someone from Sears will see this and take action, for me and others that look to Sears for service. |
